Clearwater River Chalet

Clearwater River Chalet was designed as a wilderness retreat for people seeking a vacation in an isolated area away from modern distractions.

You will find no television, no telephone, no cell phone service, no newspaper and limited radio reception. And, you can't even drive to the Chalet. Access is by a 30-minute walk along a scenic trail which descends 125 metres (425 feet) to the Clearwater River. It starts from the end of a private 2 km road off the Wells Gray Park road. There are no staff on site daily, but the caretaker completes cleaning and maintenance just prior to your arrival. The Chalet is never rented on a shared basis, so you can expect to enjoy an exclusive and private stay. The Chalet can accommodate parties of up to 8 persons.

Hiking beside the wild sparkling waters of the Clearwater River is just one of the activities you can enjoy during a stay at Clearwater River Chalet. Yet the highlight for many guests may be simply relaxing on the deck, watching the river flow by, and savouring the solitude with no other human habitation in sight. Many of our guests are repeat visitors and there is good reason why. Come and stay at the Clearwater River Chalet and find out why this is so.

Canoeing on the Clearwater River at the Chalet is not recommended as water is swift and deep. Swimming in the Clearwater River is hazardous. Some guests use the plunge pool below Moul Falls for a dip.
